Deliveries and Setup

How much is delivery?

How far in advance should I order?

Standard custom orders are required to be ordered 2 WEEKS in advance. Wedding orders are required to be ordered 4-8 WEEKS in advance. In general, we would like to confirm your order as soon as possible. Reason being is our orders are all made from scratch and fresh ingredients. From recieving your order, I need time to design, buy ingredients and packaging, prep, bake and decorate. Less than 2 weeks in advance may be consider but additional charge for rush order may apply.

How do I place an order?

To place an order, you can go through our CONTACT US page to email us, or directly message us at our Facebook page Dreamagical Patisserie.

Do you have a retail location?

We are a small home business and do not have a retail location for you to browse. However, we do have a gallery on our HOME page that you can look at and get ideas from. If you have something specific in mind that you saw online, feel free to send them to us.

Special dietary request?

We go take special requests such as gluten free or diabetic cakes. Make sure to put that in request if needed.

Other flavours?

If there is a flavour you want that is not on our list please let us know and we will see if we can accomadate you. Additional charges may apply depending on the ingredients requested.

When is the last day to make changes?

If we are given ample notice (at least 3 days), we can accommodate most changes to your order. Some designs require us to make fondant details well in advance in order to dry, so we may not be able to accommodate changes if these details have already been prepared.

For wedding cakes, we require 2 weeks notice for any changes to your order.

What is the difference between standard cupcakes and custom design cupcakes?

Standard cupcakes will only have a swirl of frosting and some sprinkles if requested. Custom designed cupcakes are usually fondant topped. From a small flower on top of the frosting or a full coverage of the cupcake. Fondant topped cupcakes require a lot more labour to do, which is why it costs $0.5 more and no 10% discount after 1 dozen.

Can I do custom design on mini cupcakes?

Sure you can! It will be very minimal because there aren't a lot of space on mini cupcakes. It will be $2.5-3/ea depending on what is needed for the design.

Do you make other desserts such as mousse cakes and truffles?

We do! They are not on the pricing menu because it really depends on what you want. Quality chocolate and the types of chocolate has a wide variety of range. As well as cream cheese for cheese cakes, how they get packaged, different desserts requires different labour time. There are so many factors that could affect the price. Please contact us for a quotation.

What is included in your pricing?

We are a small business working from home and all orders are made from scratch and with fresh ingredients. Which is why I decline orders that want to be placed just a day or 2 notice because I simply do not have cakes and frostings sitting around my house. The base cake includes a consultation, time to design, overhead, equipment, gas and electricity, going out to get and prep ingredients, then of course baking the cake. The decoration price strictly includes my husband and I spending hours and hours to decorate the cakes.

Why are each cake priced differently?

All cakes are priced differently because each order is unique and customly made. A client might want only white fondant with a simple rose on it and another client might want a rice krispy molded figurines while another client might want very elaborate and detailed hand piping. Each order takes different amount of time which is why each cake costs differently depending on how many hours we need to spend on decorating.

How are cookies priced?

Cookies are priced at $3.5/ea because they usually includes a lot of detail in decorating with royal icing and covered in fondant. Each one might be unique which includes more time in designing and decorating. They are also individually wrapped and packaged as well.

How much is deposit?

A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required at the time of ordering to secure your date. Reason being is I might have already spent my hours of time consultating whether on the phone, messages or even meet up somewhere on my weekend or off hours at my full time job. Those time spent are gone, yet you might decide to not order for various reasons. Also if another client is asking for the same date as you but has paid deposit, that day will be booked for the other client.

Additional charges may apply for rushed orders (less than two weeks). Full amount will be charged for a rush order (instead of 50% deposit) on the date of order.

When is payment due?

The remaining amount is due between 3 days prior to on the day of delivery.

What forms of payments are accepted?

Cash, etransfer, cheques and credit cards are accepted.

What about cancellations?

Cancellations are accepted but 50% deposit is non-refundable and no neogotiation.

How much is delivery and setup?

Pick up is free, delivery and setup is $25 within 25km, $1/km after 25 km. Based on google map calculations.

We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup or pick up is complete. If you or your representative elect to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves possession.

Can I put my cake in the fridge or freezer?

You are also responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the order.  Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 68°F/20°C degrees or below if the cake is going on display.

Buttercream cakes are ok to go in fridge or freezer, but fondant cake cannot. Fondant cake are very high in sugar, and sugar absorbe moisture from the fridge and start to have conensation and decorations will get soft. Freezing fondant cakes are not recommended but if you must it must be completely wrapped in plastic wrap for several layer as well as foil on top, when ready it has to be taken out to thaw in room temperature for at least 8 hours for the condensation to disappear.
